Ariake Museum of Art
At first glance, it seemed as though the artwork this museum lacked a common theme. However, after talking with the owners, I discovered the theme: Artwork with a message. Today, many people enjoy art but often quickly forget about it once they return to their daily lives. The owners of this museum dislike this trend, and wanted to form a collection of artwork which would catch a person’s mind and make them think twice about what they are looking at. The personal collection of artworks offers glimpses of everything from tragic disease and political satire to the beauty of the human form.
The museum itself is a beautiful wooden house which was built specifically to house the owners’ art collection. There is a small café where visitors can sit and contemplate the artwork over a cup of coffee.
